San Diego is my town, it’s the place of my birth
But I’m not in the Navy, and I don’t surf so I
I don’t know if I’m ever gonna make any sense here
Well, I tried to get out, tried to get away, but
It looks like maybe this is where I’m gonna stay, so I
I’ll try to learn to love my hometown.
I like the bay, and the beach, and the mountains
The weather’s always really great
You know, there’s Balboa Park and the desert
Let’s be really honest - there’s not much to hate,
San Diego is my town, yeah, you know it’s a dream
But I don’t work for Qualcomm and I’m not a Marine, so I
I’m not sure what it is that I think I can do here
Well, the traffic’s not too bad, but the rent is high
If we don’t save some water, we’re all gonna die, so let’s
Let’s show some love to our dry hometown.
Sometimes I want to move to
San Francisco, Brooklyn, perhaps LA, but
I know that if I did,
Every man that I would meet there would be gay
San Diego is a town with a lot of men,
And you know that I’d like to have sex again so I
I stick around even though I’m not sure that I fit here
Well, the odds may be good, but it’s plain to see that
You know nobody’s ever really into me, so I
I’ll keep searching for love here in my hometown
We don’t win Super Bowls,
Yeah, we might be cursed, and we’re all resigned
to keep buying tickets, but
I wish the freaking Chargers would make up their mind,
San Diego is my town, you know it’s corrupt
But no one ever really seems to know what’s up,
Because it’s sunny...and pretty...so we don’t pay a lot of attention
Well, I think the city council knows that we don’t care
We’ve had a lot of trouble trying to find a mayor, but that’s
Par for the course here in my hometown
You know, I love being close to the border
I go to Baja all the time
I wish that the wait could be shorter,
But, since I got SENTRI, I can skip the line
San Diego - mi ciudad de arena y sol
Y no soy mexicana pero hablo español
The only thing that helps me to make any sense here
Well, I know that certain people want to build a wall,
But I don’t think that that’s a good idea at all, so let’s
Let’s stand for love here in our hometown.
(pandeiro solo)
San Diego is my town, and now I see
That I can make it somewhere that I want to be
If I keep doing what I do, even if no one hears me
Well, when it comes the arts, no one seems to care
But I know that it would be the same anywhere, so I
I keep making some noise here in my hometown
I keep looking for love here in my hometown
I’m still trying to learn to love my hometown
(Oh yeah!)
